About the Investment Talent Development Collaborative

The Investment Talent Development Collaborative (ITDC) was launched in August 2024 to expand access to careers in finance for students from diverse backgrounds. Building on the success of early “intern swap” programs in the Bay Area, ITDC has grown to over 2,250 student members nationally, including many first-generation Americans and students from HBCUs.

Our Mission

We aim to provide education, career guidance, and networking opportunities to students exploring finance, with a focus on those lacking industry connections. Our initiatives are designed to complement, not compete with, other talent development efforts, serving as a pipeline for programs like Project Destined and Greenwood Project.

2025 Goals

• Grow to 3,500 student members by the 2025 IDAC Summit
• Host 10+ educational events on key industry topics
• Launch a 1:1 career coaching program for students without finance industry connections
• Organize an in-person networking event around the IDAC Summit
• Relaunch the “intern swap” program in major metro areas (SF, Boston, NYC)

What We've Accomplished So Far

• Hosted career development sessions with Wilshire, KKR/Callan, and T. Rowe Price/CommonSpirit
• Upcoming events on public plans, insurance, hedge funds, and fixed income
• Established partnerships with nonprofits to strengthen career pathways

Where We Need Support

Students are eager for more corporate engagement from major firms like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Bridgewater, and Lazard. Expanding industry involvement is a key initiative for 2025.

Future Aspirations

• Launch IDAC Fellowships for students to intern with asset allocators
• Sponsor student attendance at industry conferences like AltsLA & PensionBridge
• Provide finance training programs similar to UC Investments' initiatives
• Support outreach efforts with event promotion and materials
